Laurent Severac journeys through Vietnam and Laos hunting for plants that could be of interest to the perfume industry. Creating special essences and fragrance oils is no easy task. The 44-year old Frenchman, who lives in Vietnam, travels South East Asia in search of unknown, fragrant plants for the French perfume industry. Laurent was only a child when his father first took him truffle hunting. Their aroma awoke in him a passion for scents which drives him to this day. His love of adventure brought him to Asia 14 years ago where he made his passion his job. In addition to searching for new, unknown fragrances, he runs a company that produces natural essences as a base ingredient for the perfume and cosmetics industry. The film follows the scent hunter from the jungles of South East Asia to the city of Grasse in the southwest of France. Here in the world's perfume capital, he presents his new discoveries to his customers.
