Seychelles' North Island - Return to Paradise

Seemingly, because after the collapse of the coconut industry, the farmers living on North abandoned the island, leaving behind them an overgrown plantation and numerous non-native animals – with devastating consequences. Stubborn weeds choked local plants, pigs destroyed tortoise preserves. Then private investors stepped in, bought the island and embarked on a major nature protection project in order to return the Seychelles paradise to its former glory. The project is financed by an outrageously expensive luxury hotel. The film shadows guests and staff at the hotel, meeting well-heeled globetrotters, ambitious resort managers and local staff.
