New York is booming. The city is overflowing with money, property prices in Manhattan are rising to undreamt-of heights - and yet there is no shortage of buyers. Property brokers are treated here like pop stars. Traditional neighbourhoods like Soho, once synonymous with the artistic scene, are being taken over by big-name department stores and insurance offices. The face of the city is changing. Just five years after the attacks, even the memory of 9/11 seems increasingly to have been left to those  immediately affected. We have set out to hunt down the winners and the losers in the new NY boom. We spend some time with those who are currently the most powerful people in the city, the brokers and real estate agents. And we spend time with Florent, one of the last survivors of the old New York and an icon of the gay movement. The owner of a small deli is battling in the formerly notorious meatpacking district to retain the meat factories and not cede this territory completely to the yuppies from Wall Street.
