Vitalij Conquers Florida – Story Of A Russian Adoption; Rechte: united docs

The Fariolas of Florida wanted a Russian child. Adoptive children from Russia are much sought-after. Their longing for a child drove this American couple to travel 9,000 kilometres to the furthest corners of Russia, where they were finally successful. Their bundle of joy has a name: Vitalij, seven years old, a boy that no-one wanted. Both mentally and physically disabled, he was allowed to be adopted after being abandoned by his alcoholic mother. The Russian authorities had one condition: both of Vitalij’s older sisters had to be included in the adoption package. The film accompanies the Fariola’s long search for a child through the orphanages of Russia. Six months later, we visit the family to see how things are going for the little Russians in their new home in Florida.
