Lena started as a model in commercials and is now a stage actress and singer. She has also become a best-selling author in Russia in the meantime, where she writes about the life of a successful businesswoman. All of this without formal training, without an agent and without being a wealthy hotel heiress. Lena Lenina has carved out a typically Russian career. When the Soviet Union collapsed, she utilised the new opportunities open to her, discovered show business and fought her way to the top of the heap in Russia's wild 1990s.
